Today I (Sam) woke up with a much milder headache and knew I would be ready to get walking again. I took the morning slow, packing my things and getting ready to leave the room at around noon to check out of the hotel we had been staying at in Amarillo. After checking out, James and I made some improvements to the format of our fundraiser while also making some flyers to hand out during our walk. This whole process took about 3 hours, but it was certainly worth it in the end. We would only have 12 miles to walk today and set our sites on a Golden Corral at the midpoint. About 20 minutes in, we were stopped by a man who pulled over to tell us he saw us walking a week before and wanted to take a picture of us to send to his friend. That was pretty cool. We continued onward to Golden Corral where we loaded up on food and watched some Monday Night Football. Afterwards we went to Target to get some more supplies such as water and food and eventually found a nice spot off the side of the road to pitch our tents. Since we are heading out west, we have become more conscious of the possibility of snakes, as being wary of them could pose a challenge in the near future. Otherwise, the day went quite smoothly.
