Sam’s Day
Today I (Sam) woke up with another migraine! It was likely induced by my vomiting last night after I ate a burrito from a truck stop that didn’t seem to sit right. This wasn’t a huge deal, as it was probably bound to happen at some point or another. I told James that I would likely take a shorter day today in order to avoid aggravating another string of migraines. I stayed in the tent until around 3 before getting out. There was a gas station with a truck stop about 8 miles away, so I decided for that to be my destination for the day. I walked over without any problems and then got some food at the Dairy Queen inside of the gas station. The clerk was very nice, and he gave me some music recommendations. My head was starting to feel better and I was excited to watch the Thursday night Bears game in my tent. Unfortunately, there was no service! This was sad, but it meant an earlier nights sleep.

James’ Day
I (James) woke up around 8am to a cold morning. This was a nice excuse to lounge around in the tent and watch some TV. I started packing up a little before 10. I had a nice long stop at Dairy Queen about 7 miles in. I had definitely been feeling physically and mentally worn out the last few days, but I continued to remind myself that I would have a nice day of watching football on Sunday in Albuquerque(today was Thursday). My parents would be visiting us there and had rented an Airbnb, which was nice motivation to keep walking. Along the way, I met a man who was walking the opposite direction along the interstate. He was carrying a small pack on his back and said he was walking to Texas. He asked me for some water, and fortunately I had plenty and was able to lend him some. I informed him of the rest stop with the Dairy Queen that I had just come from, which was about 6 miles away at that point. Soon after, it was time to tune into the Thursday Night Football game on the radio. This helped power me through the walk, although there were some tough uphill stretches and walking on the interstate at night is never pleasant. I made it to the Clines Corners rest stop around 9:30pm. As I was setting up my tent, I realized that my front tire had another flat. At this point I didn’t really care and just wanted to get in the tent and deal with it in the morning.
