Day 128: Skeptical of the Tuna Melt

We woke up to the sound of dogs barking outside of our tents. It was pretty hard to tell how far they actually were from us, but they honestly felt pretty darn close. They eventually left, and we began packing up. While it was scenic, the wind was horrendous. I (Sam) walked for about 12 miles before stopping under a tree to watch UFC 280. Trees have been scarce as of late, so this was something of the privilege. Unfortunately I only had one bar of service, so the stream was a bit choppy. James caught up to me and also took a break under the tree. Afterwards we continued walking, and I spoke to my mother over the phone who helped me fill out some job applications from home since she had access to a computer. After this, James and I decided to race to a subway about 6 miles away. While we were neck and neck for the first 30 minutes, James decided to take a “strategic” 5 minute break. I pounced on this opportunity and gained a massive lead. I saw a nice man named Bruce who stopped me on the road to see what we were up to. I ended up defeating James by 0.8 miles, quite a large margin. My strategy involved interval sprinting mixed in with walking. We both ate at subway, and I tried James’ typical tuna melt order. I was skeptical and left skeptical. 5.5/10. We walked for another hour before finding a spot off the side of the road to pitch our tents for the night.
