Day 138: Cold Night

We woke up in the motel and hung around inside throughout the beginning of the day. Check out was at 11am, so we left around then. We walked for about 2 miles until reaching a small Mexican food joint built inside of a gas station. Craving a proper meal as I (Sam) had not had one in nearly 5 days, I ordered quite a lot of food. While ordering, James unfortunately knocked over all of the cutlery, causing a small ruckus in the restaurant. It really hit the spot, and we ended up spending about 2 hours in total at the restaurant. After eating, we went to Dollar General to stock up for a few days. We didn’t have to buy all that much because we would be in Snowflake in a couple of days. I actually had a nice conversation with a man in the parking lot while James was finishing up with his check-out. The night was very cold while walking, and we stopped at a church about 13 miles in to stop for a break. Unfortunately, a bunch of dogs were barking at us from various houses while we were trying to relax. Still, it was nice to rest, and we continued onwards after our break. Thankfully, the road was also not too crowded, and the rest of the walking was pretty ordinary. We got in pretty late, and set up camp on the side of the road.
