Day 141: Pass the Time

We checked out at the hotel we were staying at at around 11am, and it was a bit sad to leave. The spot was very cozy, and it was a tad chilly in the morning. James and I (Sam) decided to go to a nearby cafe to catch up on some of our blog posts as well as edit our gofundme fundraiser page. I ordered a latte with oat milk, something I typically enjoy on a study day back home. It is interesting how much of a luxury something like coffee can become while on this trip. We spent about 3 hours at the cafe before heading off to Family Dollar to stock up on supplies for the next week. I made some changes to my typical diet, this time buying some dinosaur nuggets, a personal favorite. We got walking, and it was a little hilly to begin with. The reception was generally good, but whenever we would go down a hill/mountain, there was a pretty noticeable difference, which was interesting. I spoke on the phone with a friend for a while too, which helped pass the time a little bit. Sometimes it feels nice to pass the time, but during others I feel strangely guilty, as if I am cheaply escaping the challenge that I am trying to put myself through. We walked 25 miles before setting up our camp on the side of the road, something that we have become quite accustomed to at this point in the trip with the towns being so spread out.
