I (James) got going at around 11:30am. Earlier in the morning, I received a visit from the cops who were just checking up to see if I was okay. It was another short walking day, which was nice. I walked about 5 miles on a path between the interstate and railroad. Then I was back in another town, and stopped for a bit at a local coffee shop. I waited there until a little after 3pm, before heading to the movie theater next door to catch the 3:30 show of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. There was only one other person in the theater, which made sense given that it was the middle of the afternoon on a Wednesday. While I was at the movies, Sam received a surprise visit from Joey Murray, who we had met in Columbus. It was unfortunate to miss out on that, and apparently Joey made a big announcement to the Chipotle they were at that Sam was walking across the country. After the movie, I ran into Sam, who was catching the 7:00pm show. I walked another few miles and stopped at Denny’s for one last big feast before the 100 mile, 48 hour challenge that would begin tomorrow. I then found a grassy spot next to a hotel to pitch my tent for the evening.
