After an impromptu rest day at the church, we were once again on our way. We finally got out of Pennsylvania and into West Virginia, which was very beautiful. One of our stops was Wendy’s, where we talked to a nice man who, happened to be from Chicago, and his daughter about our trip as well as his own past experiences in the wilderness. After our long Wendy’s pit stop, we we crossed the West Virginia state border into Ohio! A man picking berries in some bushes off the side of the road surprised us with a quick lesson on wild gathering, and we later encountered a woman weeding her lawn who later offered us iced tea and Gatorade. We finally set up camp in yet another church in Hopedale, and called it a night. As a whole, today was a day filled with personable people and delightful conversation.
