We woke up in the soothing darkness of the air conditioned hotel room. I (James) headed downstairs for the continental breakfast around 8:30am while Sam continued to sleep. I enjoyed eggs, bacon, and cereal while the rain poured down onto the windows from outside. Then I went back upstairs to get tucked away in bed again in the darkness. Later on that morning, we washed our clothes and each took one last shower. The hotel manager gave us an extra hour to check out, which we took full advantage of by watching an episode of Friday Night Lights. At 1pm I checked out and then walked across the street to the other Marriott and asked to use the pool. We were allowed inside and lounged around the pool and hot tub until around 2:30pm. It was tough getting back on the road, as the hotel reminded us of the comforts of normal life that we have been missing out on. We did enjoy walking though downtown Indianapolis and enjoyed a nice stop inside Lucas Oil Stadium. We walked about 18 miles on the day, and the last 3 in particular were very tough as we trudged through uneven grass (there was no shoulder) in the darkness. We got in around midnight and set up camp in a church.
