Day 7: good people

We had a slow start today because it was pouring rain in the morning. This was actually quite nice, as we were able to get some extra rest after our big 28 miles day. We started walking around 2, and managed to knock out 15 miles. We were stopped by an officer responding to a call about us and he was quite nice. He asked many questions, as he mentioned he desired to hike the Appalachian trail but no longer has the time. At night in Wind Gap, we stopped at a Sports Bar and Grille. A group of people standing outside the restaurant asked us about our shopping carts. After hearing our story, a kind local by the name of Mike offered to pick up our tab. We were extremely grateful, and he even insisted on buying us a meal to-go for the morning. After Mike left, we gave the bartender money to buy Mike a drink in advance once we were back on the road, as he was a regular at the joint. 6/23/22
