We were awoken next to the Monett Regional Airport by a man explaining that we were not allowed to be there. After packing up our things, we continued on Route 60 which featured a beautiful wide shoulder. About 16 miles in, we stopped at a local pizza restaurant in a town called Granby. The restaurant had just opened apparently, and they were still trying to arrange their furniture inside. Luckily there were a few tables for James and I (Sam) to sit at as well as outlets to charge our phones. I enjoyed spaghetti and meatballs, while James ordered a calzone. The restaurant staff were very kind and sat by us while also engaging in some conversation. We ended up spending about 2 hours at the pizza place before heading back out on the road. Knowing that we would be having a rest day the day after, the last 9 miles of the day were not very difficult. Walking on the outskirts of Neosho, I was reminded how entering a town can be very exciting after traveling through the country all day. We eventually got to Walmart, where I used the restroom while James found us a place to set up our tents. Our spot for the night was in a field next to Walmart, and we went to bed easy knowing there was no walking the next day.
