We woke up after a nice sleep in the dark storage unit (there were no windows). We got going a little after 8am and headed to the gas station to use the restroom and stock up on food. About 12 miles in, we took a nap on the side of the road. We ended up staying there for about 2 hours. We got going again around 3pm and tuned into the US Open Women’s Final on our phones. A few miles later, we stopped at Rock Cafe in Stroud, OK. The restaurant was built in 1939 out of rock unearthed during the construction of Route 66. The waiters took an interest in our journey and had us sign the guest book. They also filled my (James’) water bottles on the way out. I unfortunately picked up another flat tire (I got my first the day before). I patched it up and we continued on our way. In Stroud, we also passed by a pole that showed how many miles away LA, Chicago, OKC, and Tulsa were. At 8:00pm I arrived at First Baptist Church in Davenport, OK. Sam arrived a bit later after using the bathroom at a store in town. We set up our in tents and got inside before the rain started later that night.
