I (Sam) made sure to sleep in on my final morning in Oklahoma City. I threw in my last bite of laundry and ate some pizza rolls we baked in the oven to pass our final hours in the AirBNB that James’ family got for us during their visit. We planned to meet them at a restaurant on the coast of Lake Hefner, the water reservoir for Oklahoma City, for lunch. It was about 4.5 miles away, good for about 1.5 hours of walking. We got there and sat outside, which offered a beautiful view of the lake. James and I both ordered sandwiches while his parents ordered soup and salad. After lunch was over, we said our goodbyes and continued on our way. We planned to stop at a Taco Bell in about 3 miles to catch up on our blog posts and also discuss more about our fundraiser. The blog posts were almost finished when a McDonald’s employee asked us to leave as we had long overstayed our welcome and the lobby would be closing in 15 minutes. We found a church nearby to pitch our tents and finished watching Thursday Night Football before going to bed.
